My first Windsurfing session this year and what a cracker! Infact my first
sesh since last Octobers demo.
It was the Boardwise Demo in Aberdyfi so I trekked over on the bike which
was a hell of a mission in itself. Got there a tad bit late 11:30 for my
liking but still got a good 4 hours in testing all sorts of new Demo kit
out.
As all the kit suited to the conditions had gone, I first of all went out
on a 4.2m Tush sail and 84 L Starboard board which was bloody difficult as
there was just enough wind in the gusts so I was thrown straight into
action. Did a couple of runs on that then abandoned the idea and opted for
a bigger sail and board.
There was again as always a good turnout with a lot of midlanders testing
out the various kit. The usual familiar faces were there including Al,
Steve and Andy W.
I was on a New Neil Pryde Fly 4.7m2 sail for the majority of the day
together with a number of different boards. I always get on well with the
Starboard boards and tested a number of different models. It was a case of
blasting back and forth all day long messing all my gybes at the end of the
day with fatigue setting in.
Looking forward to my next session wherever it may be.
Almost forgot to mention, the beef rolls in the clubhouse were amazing as
well!
